  1. 40-100 mSv protracted exposure
  2. 10-50 mSv acute exposure


Risk of fatal cancer to adults:

  • 4% per Sv (1 cancer death per 2500 people receiving 0.01Sv (1 rem)).
  • Risk 2-3 times higher in children
  • Risk lower in > 50 years old
