The test is considered positive if there is prompt tracer accumulation in the liver with excretion of tracer into the bowel and without gallbladder visualization at 4 hours. The test may be considered positive at 1 hour post-radionuclide injection if the gallbladder does not visualize within 20 minutes of IV injection of morphine.
